Elementary Engineering

Wednesdays 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM

The Elementary Engineering Program is designed for gifted and talented students in 1st through 4th grade.

We are pleased to announce the return of our engineering class. Our engineering program focuses on teaching students critical thinking, problem solving, and spatial reasoning skills through hands-on engineering design projects. Students will learn about simple machines, bridges, and structures through Lego and K’nex builds, and they’ll use their new knowledge, the engineering design process, and a lot of creativity to assemble their final project.

Final Project

To conclude the school year, students work together to build a Rube Golberg machine, demonstrating all the physics and engineering conepts they learned throughout the year.  Students learn to set goals, critically analyze problems, brainstorm solutions, and test those solutions.  This machine is built using K’nex.
